Talk to any Hurricane pilot and you'll hear nothing but praise and affection for this superb fighter. Hurricane Battle of Britain ace Frank Carey said "It was built like the Forth Bridge and could take enormous punishment and get you home. On one occasion I had my entire rudder and most of one elevator blown clean off, and collected a hole in my port wing a man could fall through. My Hurricane got me home and landed quite normally!"
